NECTA GATCE 2026 EXAM TIMETABLE (RATIBA YA MITIHANI YA UALIMU)
The NECTA GATCE 2026 Examination Timetable (Ratiba ya Mitihani ya Ualimu – GATCE 2026) is the official schedule that shows how and when Grade A teacher certificate exams will be conducted in Tanzania. It is prepared and released by the National Examinations Council of Tanzania. According to NECTA announcements, the GATCE timetable for May 2026 was officially released in March 2026.
The GATCE (Grade A Teachers Certificate Examination) timetable is a formal document that provides Exact dates of each exam, Day and time (morning and afternoon sessions), Subjects/papers to be examined, Duration of each exam and Important instructions for candidates.
ABOUT NECTA
NECTA is a government institution established by Law in 1973 with the responsibility of administering national examinations in Tanzania. Before 1973, all national examinations were administered by the Curriculum and Examinations Section of the Ministry of Education after Mainland Tanzania had pulled out of the East African Examinations Council in 1971.
The National Examinations Council of Tanzania (NECTA) was established under the Parliamentary Act No. 21 of 1973 with the responsibility of administering all National Examinations and Assessments in Tanzania.
WHAT IS GATCE?
GATCE Stands for Grade A Teachers Certificate Examination. GATCE is a national exam taken by Students in Grade A Teacher Training Colleges. Those preparing to become primary school teachers. It is one of the teacher education exams managed by NECTA.
